Tommy Douglas believes that the run health care should be apply by the government. Because of there are differences about the price between people who has money to pay for them hospital care and people who has difficulties living above poverty line, only a government can pay for all its citizens. There are also problems with the other health care plans because the government has to dispose of beneficiaries because of their age, congenital illnesses or their medical past history. At the opposite, Dr. E. W. Barootes thinks that legislating profession of medecine can threaten the best of human values like charity or mercy.
Stockwell Day talks about the "two tier" health care system that the Liberal Party proposed in 2000 to think about the problem of ours. He also refers to the economic problems that our health sytem has because it costs more and more each year without good reasons that can explain it. Problems are also caused by millions of dollar foreign investment when the problems are here. He thinks that healthy care system is not a good idea because it will cost a lot in the future if the problems aren't resolved. If it continues, the deficit will increase with taxes, without solutions is found.
In this crisis time, I believe that a public health care is the solution. I think everybody has the right to access at public health services without discrimination because he doesn't have a lot money. Each person should treated at the same way than another. Stockwell Day may have a point when he said the problems are the money that government invests in U.S. when we need it for us, but it's not a reason to deprive those who can't afford to pay their own hospital health care. I would also dispute the opinion of Dr. Barootes because, normally, a doctor doesn't treat patients just because he will be paid a lot. He was sworn that he will always try to assist anyone needs help in every situation, that he will receive money in exchange or not. I share a view with Tommy Douglas's idea of the run health system. Everybody needs care at least on time in his life and it's not everyone that can pay several hundred dollar for hospitalization. I think our society is not an invidualist society, while acting as such!

ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you when you say that the problem is the money that people invest in United States. We already have problems with economics in Canada, why should we contribute for other countries? It is totally not logical to invest in a system that the decisions taken will not help us, but the American one. I also like the point that you said: a doctor doesn't treat patients only because he will be paid a lot. If he does, where are we going in the world if doctors only work for money?
ReplyDeleteI’m not agreeing with you when you say that we aren’t in an individualist society. You just have to think how we live at school. Everyone work hard for having the higher grades and the competition mind is fixed in our head. It’s the same principle in medicine. Every doctor wants the most patient as possible and the result is that a lot of citizen doesn’t have their own family doctor. That’s the point where I’m agreeing with you: every have the right to have the cares that they need without discrimination and they don’t have to pay for it. Finally, I just want to tell you that you text is very interesting!
